?Job Description

Fruge Aquafarms and Seafood is seeking a Accounting Assistant/Accounts Payable Manager to assist in all accounting and accounts payable functions of our well established and growing company. The ideal candidate is an energetic professional who is organized, has great attention to detail and desires to contribute their skills for the growth of the company.


  • Monthly balance sheet and income statement reconciliations
  • Monthly journal entries and schedules
  • Assist in completion of monthly/yearly financial statements in a timely manner
  • Ensure that all purchase orders are received accurately and in a timely manner
  • Ensure that accounts payable are accurately paid in a timely manner
  • Work with various people and departments both inside and outside of the company to provide required support and information
  • Code and categorize transactions to the appropriate general ledger accounts
  • Follow generally accepted accounting principles and guidelines while ensuring appropriate documentation and records are maintained
  • Maintain up-to-date process documentation and procedures for all tasks
  • Assist in compiling all new-hire documentation to provide to outsourced Human Resources department
  • Assist with Ad-Hoc projects as needed


  • Degree in Accounting preferred but not required
  • 2-3 years’ experience in accounting; specifically with closing financials, reconciling balance sheets and bank accounts, accounts payable, accounts receivable, journal entries, inter-company transactions, payroll for 50+ employees, and inventory management
  • Networking and database management skills preferred
  • Strong people and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and changing environment
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Applications such as Word and Excel
  • Ability to understand, analyze and develop operational processes and procedures
  • Experience with QuickBooks required; experience with Astra, Whiskey Systems, Quickbase, SQL, and Crystal Reports a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $38,000 – $45,000 annually
