ACCOUNTING SPECIALIST

Pilgrim’s is the second largest chicken producer in the world, with operations in the U.S., Puerto Rico, Mexico and the U.K. Pilgrim’s processes, prepares, packages and delivers fresh, further-processed and value-added poultry products for sale to customers in more than 100 countries, employs more than 50,000 people and contracts with more than 5,200 family farmers. We have implemented safety measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19. We are working to ensure social distancing within our facility. We have installed physical barriers throughout our facility such as plexi-glass or plastic barriers between team member work stations. Each day, temperature screens are performed for each employee and visitor before entering the facility. Face coverings are provided and required over the mouth and nose at all times when inside the facility, and enhanced cleaning and sanitation is regularly performed. Showing proof of at least 1st dose of COVID-19 vaccine is mandatory.

Purpose:

Key responsibilities are to work closely with operations and accounting management, to assure the maintenance of internal control procedures, standards, and compliance as it pertains to the Sarbanes Oxley Act and to insure adherence to generally accepted accounting principles.

Responsibilities:

  1. Researching accounts for receivables, activity, payments, deductions, credits, write-offs. This includes maintaining all proper documentation is in order.
  2. Processing credits, debits, re-bills and researching invoices.
  3. Communicating with customers on payment and billing issues.
  4. Logging product returns and verify disposition of returns.
  5. Posting all deposits daily.
  6. Communication with Transportation partners on customer account issues especially COD accounts.
  7. Backing up for other areas and departments as needed.
  8. Other duties as required by management and supervision.

Basic Qualifications:

  1. 1-2 years clerical accounting experience preferred.
  2. Must be able to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
  3. Must be able to examine and verify financial documents and reports.
  4. Must be able to prepare a variety of reports and analyses.
  5. Knowledge of SAP or comparable ERP system, Excel and Microsoft.
  6. Knowledge of modern office practices, procedures, methods and equipment.
  7. Knowledge of accounting and auditing principles and practices.

High School Diploma/GED; Associates Degree preferred.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those a team member encounters while performing the essential function of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the team member will be exposed to an office environment.

Applicant must also be able to do the following:

• Sitting 90% of the time and Standing 10%

• Workable use of both hands and able to grasp.

• Good eye sight (with or without corrective lens).

• Able to perform repetitive task.

• Able to walk, stand, reach, bend, climb, push, pull, and stoup.

• Able to lift up to 10 lbs. in weight.
