Responsibilities include maintaining the general ledgers for several government contracts and preparation of timely, accurate, and reliable internal financial reports, budgets, and external government reports including monthly invoices in order to support management decision making and to satisfy external reporting requirements of government agencies and external auditors.

What youll do:

* Maintains Project/Contract accounting and reporting, including project invoicing and deliverables, and provides analysis and support to the Program director to assist with management of operations.
* Participates in monthly close process including preparing and posting monthly journal entries in the accounting system by specified due dates and preparing account analyses on a monthly basis to ensure general ledger account balances accurately reflect the results of the company.
* Prepares bank reconciliations on a monthly basis.
* Assists with coding of accounts payable invoices ensuring that invoices are coded to the appropriate account, cost center and corporation.
* Assists with monthly Financial Statement preparation by insuring accuracy and completeness of contract accounting by reviewing trends and analyzing individual costs against prior year and budget.
* Assists operations personnel with drafting narrative explanations for revenue and expense budget variances on a monthly basis.
* Functions as a liaison between FP&A and Operations in preparing annual budgets.

What youll need:

Required Qualifications

* Bachelors Degree in Accounting is required.


* 1-3 years of general accounting experience.
* Experience in computerized accounting systems and knowledge of relevant computer technology.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

* Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills, and ability to work effectively with others.
* Must be proficient in Excel.
* Detail oriented with strong analytical skills.
