Lyons Specialty Co is seeking a Human Resources Manager in Port Allen, LA.

The Human Resources Manager will operate as a strategic and tactical partner across every phase of the employee lifecycle.

Reporting to the CFO, this individual will define, lead, and implement programs and processes across all facets of people operations, including talent acquisition, employee relations, compliance, performance management, workforce planning, and more.

You will play a significant role in shaping our company and talent strategy.

The individual in this role will wear many hats and will often resolve complex matters, balancing the needs of the people with the needs of the business.

This position drives change strategies that align with a performance culture using influencing skills to partner with leaders to significantly improve performance, business outcomes and employee engagement.

We are seeking someone who is a trusted advisor, coach, and HR generalist in providing the best possible service to our people and business.

The right person for the role is a roll-up-their-sleeve, get-stuff-done individual with a strategic vision who has experience building and scaling teams.

Strategic Alignment and Execution
Business Acumen
Aligns HR strategy, goals, and objectives to overall business strategy and objectives; develops HR business strategies to drive key business results; provides guidance on talent management, workforce relations, organization design and compensation, partnering with subject-matter experts to develop needed solutions
Maintains broad-based knowledge of the organization and its operations; uses knowledge of business and HR metrics to make business decisions; evaluates critical activities in terms of value-added impact and utility derived from cost-benefit analysis
Recommends business practice/work process improvements to identify opportunities for leveraging human capital; ensures all HR initiatives have ROI that adds to organizational value
Maintains knowledge of labor market and economic environment impact on industry and organization operations; leverage benchmark information on the competition and other relevant comparison groups to help drive business decisions
Human Resources Expertise
Manage and execute the recruitment process, advertising, job descriptions, applicant screening, interview scheduling, and reference checks
Enhance, deliver, and maintain on-boarding process to solidify engagement
Coordinate and manage company’s compensation plans; prepare and implement annual salary plans, develop and align compensation plans to drive desired employee and business performance
Maintains HRIS, payroll systems, time and attendance systems, and ensures data integrity
Coordinate and manage benefits plans; annual benefits open enrollment and issue resolution
Relationship Management
Develops strategic partnerships with the senior business leaders, and contributes toward initiatives that address organizational strategic goals and needs
Facilitates interactions among organizational stakeholders to achieve optimal outcomes; resolves escalated conflicts among stakeholders
Builds consensus and settles disputes on HR policy and practice decisions
Builds valuable and trusted relationships with all members of the Lyons team
Assesses needs and identifies interventions that address issues of retention, change management, employee engagement, and leadership development, partnering with subject-matter experts as appropriate; uses appropriate tools for leadership competency and skills assessment
Provides guidance and coaching to business unit leaders on HR, people, and business-related issues
Serves as a change agent with proven ability to drive, influence all levels of the organization to implement improvements
Maintains advanced knowledge in the use of data, evidence-based research, benchmarks, HR and business metrics to make critical decisions; asks critical questions needed to evaluate data; gathers and analyzes data, shares insights with leaders and recommends solutions that support the culture, strategic direction and resources
Education & Experience
The HR Manager is preferred to have a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Business or any other related field.
Have a minimum of 5 years of working experience preferably working as a HR Business Partner
Demonstrate successful experience sourcing for valuable potential recruitment
Possess vast demonstrated knowledge of relevant labor laws and practices
Have knowledge of standard hiring practices, recruitment metrics, interview techniques, and management systems and approaches
Have proven and successful experience in influencing senior management and departmental heads into the adoption of ultimately beneficial people management policies and procedures
As a bonus, the candidate will have proven and successful problem-solving experience leading to lasting employee relations solutions within a business
Proficiency with Microsoft and Windows applications
SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP a plus
