Job Title: Registered Line Technician (RLT) / Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)
Schedule: Monday-Friday: 8:30 am-3:30 pm
Must have a valid driver’s license
Must have at least a high-school diploma or equivalent
Must be able to pass a background check issued by the Louisiana state police
Must have an understanding and desire to work with individuals diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder from a variety of cultural backgrounds.
1 year of experience working with children and/or individuals with special needs
A background in Applied Behavior Analysis, Speech-Language Pathology, Psychology, early childhood education, special education, or a related field.
Experience as a RBT/RLT
The Hope Center for Autism Needs is an Applied Behavior Analysis provider in the Slidell area.
We are a family owned business who provides Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy to individuals diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
We also provide resources, IEP assistance, and support to families in the Slidell area.
At The Hope Center, we strive to increase functional skills which help promote independence for individuals throughout their life.
Our ABA programs focus on: behavior reduction, communication and language skills, play skills, imitation skills, fine and gross motor skills, social skills, safety skills, and self help skills.
Job Description: We are currently seeking ABA line therapists to provide ABA therapy in our clinic in Slidell.
Technician will provide 1:1 clinical skill instruction and implement behavior reduction protocols based upon the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis to individuals diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
The technician will work under the direct supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and will be responsible for implementing individualized treatment programs designed by the BCBA, collecting ongoing data, occasionally creating materials needed for client programs, and performing light cleaning duties to maintain the facility.
Applicant must be aware and accept the risks and the potential dangers of working with individuals who exhibit challenging behavior.
Examples of this behavior could include, but are not limited to, aggression towards staff members in the form of hitting, biting, kicking, scratching, hair pulling, and/or head-butting.
Applicant must also be aware and accept the possibility of any health risks which may occur as a result of injury sustained from this behavior.
Applicants will participate in an on-site training program which will provide instruction on ABA, discrete trial teaching techniques, natural environment teaching techniques, management of challenging behavior, social skills development, development of life skills, and data collection techniques.
Applicants with also complete an online mandated reporter training.
All training will be held at our clinic in Slidell, Louisiana.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
Must be able to assume and maintain a variety of postures (kneeling, squatting, crawling, sitting, standing) for extended periods of time
Must be able to sit on the floor or stand for extended periods of time
CPR and First Aid Certification (must be obtained before work begins)
Registration with the Louisiana Behavior Analyst Board requires a criminal background check.
The cost of registration with the board and background check is a total of $90 which must initially be paid by the applicant.
Reimbursement will be provided after 6-months of employment with proof of receipt.
