Apex Mortgage – Commercial Appraisal Review

Objective: Order and track appraisals for all Apex loan applications and appraisal requests.

Review appraisals for commercial loans to ensure regulatory compliance and overall appropriateness including concluded value.

Review loan applications and appraisals for suspected or existing environmental issues.

Responsibilities/Duties: 1.

Perform reviews of commercial and residential appraisals.2.

Ensure appraisals adhere to USPAP and any other regulatory requirements.3.

Verify the technical attributes of appraisals for accuracy and reasonableness.4.

Examine assumptions of appraiser and note any extraordinary assumptions made.5.

Examine suitability of comparable properties, rents, etc.

for type of property and location.6.

Opine on the quality of the overall quality of the appraisal.7.

State agreement with value or any disagreement of value with supporting evidence or commentary.8.

Verify any revisions made prior to finalizing the review.9.

Maintain database of approved appraisers, environmental firms and inspectors.10.

Assist in administering the appraisal management system.11.

Retrieve 3rd party records screening for each new loan and add it to the LOS system, as well as mark the task as completed on in Apexs LOS system, as applicable.12.

Submit any loan that contains an identified or suspected environmental concern / risk to Apexs Environmental Risk Manager (ERM) for evaluation Essential Functions: While performing the essential functions of this position, the incumbent is subject to sedentary work for extended periods of time.

Some mobility in order to access files and attend meetings is necessary.

The incumbent must be able to operate a computer terminal and office equipment and communicate and exchange information to internal and external customers.

This position is responsible for recommending changes to commercial loan related appraisals.

This position functions independently and is responsible for reporting Appraisal and Environmental findings to the Director of Credit.

– Skills & Abilities: 1.

5 years of Relationship Management, Loss Mitigation or Credit experience.2.

Appropriate appraisal experience or other educational equivalent.3.

Good credit analysis background.4.

Strong writing and interpersonal skills.5.

Strong knowledge and understanding and application of computing functions and capabilities.

Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook).6.

Excellent analytical skills.7.

Ability to function as a team player across multiple disciplines in a deadline oriented environment.
