Dispatch / Load Planner Night Shift American Linehaul is currently seeking a dispatcher / load planner to develop and assist in the daily planning of the fleet.

This is an onsite position based in Groveport Ohio.

This is a full-time and permanent position within a consistently growing company.

The candidate that is chosen for this job will have great growth potential within the organization.

This is a full-time position Tuesday through Saturday starting at 6:00 PM EST.

Though the position will occur largely during daytime hours, the candidate must be available via phone and/or email days and weekends as the departments needs dictate.

This is not a typical dispatch position that includes end-user customers and local deliveries.

This position involves the booking and organization of trucks for regular long-haul and short-haul runs through the country.

The job responsibilities are based on aiding in the coordination of the national truck network of the company.

Our ideal candidate must be able to perform the following duties with a high level of skill in order to meet the company standards required of this position: Work closely with partners on a daily basis in order to set up long-haul and short-haul runs throughout the country.

These partners include a mix of Carriers, Independent Contractors, Owner Operators and Company Drivers.

Email on daily and weekly basis to book and confirm recurring loads with repeat carriers.

Provide terminals with alerts on what carriers will be pulling their nightly loads.

Work closely with the terminal managers throughout our system to make sure their truckload power needs are met for each day.

Process and communicate to both the operations and driver team members of all changes such as rescheduling, cancellation, or adjustment to the original plan.

Act as a liaison between company terminal managers, company customer service, and carriers to alert of any issues that may arise during the course of the load.

Be in constant communication with the carriers throughout the booking and in transit process.

Negotiate preliminary rates with carriers.

Prior experience with load planning & dispatching.

Must be able to work under pressure & multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Be a highly, motivated team player that enjoys working in a group environment.

Ability to communicate with diplomacy, flexibility and professionalism in dealing with a wide variety of individuals.

Excellent data entry skills with attention to detail and accuracy necessary.

Be willing to learn a new skill set and continue to develop as a professional.

Possess proficient skills in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.

Will also be required to master the transportation software system used by the company.

Work within DOT Hours of Service to ensure service commitments are met using most cost effective routings.

Complete all required tasks in a manner that exceeds expectations.

This includes returning emails and phone calls in a timely fashion as well as promptly fulfilling any carrier, customer service and both internal and external inquiries.

Maintain the confidentiality of both the company and its carriers.

Have 2 years or more experience with dispatch and/or coordinating.

Have a Bachelor s degree or a High School diploma with equivalent related experience in this field.

Compensation: Starts at $22.00 to $24.00 per hour
– pay is commensurate with experience.

This is an hourly position, you are paid weekly, and overtime is paid after 40 hours.
