Summary:

As a tactical partner, the HR Coordinator will serve in a hands on role supporting the HR Business Partner with ensuring fair and consistent delivery of HR services and initiatives.

Responsible for performing various tasks to support the daily operations of Human Resources, the successful candidate will play an integral role in maintaining time and attendance, HRIS, answering employee questions, processing paperwork, maintaining records and supporting business/site operations.

Additionally the ideal candidate will demonstrate prior coordinator level skills in the following areas;

– HRIS Data Entry & Management
– Policy interpretation
– HR Records keeping
– Benefits
– Recruiting
– Employee relations

Essential Job Functions:

Include but are not limited to the following:

(Management reserves the right to add or modify the duties and responsibilities at any time.)

– Employee Relations: understand and communicate Compass Minerals employee relations process to managers and employees.

Provide guidance to managers using Compass Minerals HR SOP’s.

Serve as point of contact for minor employee relations issues, escalating when appropriate.

– Performance Management: Support the performance evaluation process, compensation and merit review process, and people development processes.

– Systems Management: including report generation; deliver / analyze HR metrics, and implement process improvements.

– Provide comprehensive analytical and reporting support.

– General Support of the Business & HR: Manage the administrative activities for the business HR department (data entry, filing, process invoices, reporting, etc.).

Provide backup support to Human Resources team members to ensure consistent delivery of services to the workforce.

– Staffing and Recruiting: partner with corporate recruiting to track recruiting activities for the salt business.

Support the business with additional recruiting and onboarding activities to ensure a smooth transition for incoming talent.

Qualifications:

– To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education and/or Experience:

– Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or equivalent work experience. 
– 2-3 years multi-site HR experience in a unionized environment.

– Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines including EEOC, OFCCP, I-9, FMLA compliance regulations.
