Job DescriptionComputer Analyst 2 SHC/OCCJob Description: The Information Technology (IT) Analyst will provide advanced on-site technical services and support to employees at both the Student Health Center (SHC) and Olinde Career Center (OCC) and will be primary contact for the OCC.

The IT Analyst provides a single point of contact for end users support and maintenance.

This includes software installation, system upgrades and maintenance, and computer diagnosis and repair.

The IT Analyst provides advanced troubleshooting and user training.

The IT Analyst will work closely with Student Health Center IT staff to ensure a high level of service and reliability for both departments.

The IT Analyst should have a deep appreciation for the collaborative care model and advancing the divisional priorities of quality, access and inclusion, mattering and belonging.Job Responsibilities: System Support 35% Provides technical support to all SHC and OCC users.

Performs installation and maintenance of hardware and software.

Assists in the user management and configuration of multiple software systems: limited Microsoft Active Directory administration, Medicat electronic health record (EHR) system, secure faxing system, LSU Mainframe, Microsoft Multifactor Authentication, Microsoft file share setup and security, Handshake career management platform, and others.

Maintains hardware: laptop docking stations, printers, TWAIN scanners, and other items.

Maintenance & Infrastructure 25% Maintains systems and devices to ensure optimal performance.

Provides systems maintenance, troubleshooting, and upgrades to workstations, laptops, servers, and other peripheral equipment.

Assists with keeping accurate inventory records of IT hardware and software/licensing, drafts vendor warranty support requests, and contacts vendor support as needed.

Provides limited network support: investigates networking issues, assists with management of network registrations, assist with work requests for telephony and network installs.

Internal Administration 20% Works within the IT helpdesk to create, prioritize, assign, process, and document all support requests and projects.

Works with the Health IT Manager to create/maintain IT standard operation procedures and job aid documentation.

Engages outside contractors to maintain and improve independent software environments: Medicat EHR System, eRad PACS digital imaging system, Medicus laboratory system, Handshake career management platform, and others as needed.

Communication Management 15% Communicates to appropriate staff and administration the status of on-going projects, process implementation, risk management, and recommendations for technology integration in the SHC and OCC.

Participates in weekly meetings with supervisor and unit staff to discuss status of current projects, help-desk requests, and other duties as assigned.

Other 5% Encourages the success of the IT unit by accepting feedback and performing other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:Computer Analyst 2: Minimum two (2) years of experience working in a help-desk or technical support environment and a Bachelor’s degree.

Experienced responding to, resolving, and documenting technical support requests.

Familiar with Windows 10, Windows Server, Microsoft Group Policy Management, Microsoft Active Directory, and Microsoft Office.

Familiar with setting up and troubleshooting various technical equipment such as desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, etc.

Experience working in a collaborative professional environment.Preferred Additional Qualifications:Computer Analyst 2: Familiarity with working in a health care environment.

Experience supporting devices running macOS, iOS, and Android operating systemsSpecial Qualifications: Due to the nature of the position and/or position responsibilities, this position shall be subject to drug/alcohol testing in accordance with University Policy Statement 67.

In accordance with University Policy Statement 18, this position is considered essential and may be required to report or stay on campus in the event of an emergency or closure.As with all LSU employees, due to this position title and/or responsibilities, this position has an obligation to assist students in the acquisition of necessary services.

Should a student appear in need of or seek assistance with issues of an emotional, behavioral, or mental health related matter they should be referred to the proper service within the Student Health Center.

In situations where the student creates an impression that they are a danger to themselves or others, the advisor should immediately contact the Care Team, the Dean of Students or the appropriate law enforcement agency.

Provides systems maintenance, troubleshooting, and upgrades to workstations, laptops, servers, and other peripheral equipment.

Coordinates support request related to audio/visual systems and advises leadership on new implementations.

Audits inventory records of IT hardware and software/licensing to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Initiates vendor warranty support requests, and contacts vendor support as needed.

Coordinates with LSU ITS network support to investigate networking issues.

Directs network registrations and work requests for telephony/network installations and modifications.

Internal Administration 20% Works within the IT helpdesk to create, prioritize, assign, process, and document all support requests and projects.

Provides feedback to the Health IT Manager to create and maintain IT unit standard operation procedures.

Creates and reviews job aid documentation for end-users and internal IT processes.

Determines when outside support is needed and engages outside contractors to maintain and improve independent software environments: Medicat EHR system, eRad PACS digital imaging system, Medicus laboratory system, Handshake career management platform, and others as needed.

Attends IT student employee interviews and advises the committee lead on hiring recommendations.

Communication Management 15% Establishes communication with end-users and administration to review the status of on-going projects and process implementations.

Reviews department processes and makes recommendations regarding risk management and technology integration at the SHC and OCC.

Participates in weekly meetings with supervisor and unit staff to report on the status of current projects, help-desk requests, and student employee progress.

Other 5% Encourages the success of the IT unit by accepting feedback and performing other related duties as assigned.
