Job Summary The Coordinator for Member Services is responsible for the daily operation of the front desks located at the Student Recreational Sports Center (SRSC), the Bill Garrett Fieldhouse (BGF) and the IU Outdoor Pool.

This position will be responsible to hire, train and supervise 30 hourly Member Service Associates.

The Coordinator will be responsible for providing staff training and monitoring concerning risk management issues, (including but not limited to accident, incident response, evacuations) cash and sales handling, lost and found, and sensitive data handling.

The position will assist the Director of Member Services with goal setting, execution and reporting.

The Coordinator will be responsible to assist with service area budget construction and monitoring, including the creation of hourly staffing wage projections, unit expenditures, income projections and will monitor monthly targets.

This position also will be responsible to assist with a variety of special projects to support organizational priorities including but not limited to, assisting with evaluating RS service offerings, creating and analyzing data to support proposals and decision making and assisting with the development of processes and training to support student staff and program areas.

This position reports to the Service Director for Member Services.

Provides day-to-day operational management of recreational programming staff.

Establishes short-term operational objectives.

Identifies operational issues and/or areas of improvement and implements solutions to improve processes and/or operational efficiency.

Analyzes, monitors, and evaluates performance of assigned staff; establishes work priorities, conducts performance reviews, and provides corrective action as needed.

Ensures adequate staffing and effective scheduling; participates and informs employment decisions for assigned staff.

Provides direct supervision and oversight of assigned staff and activities; impacts, and is held accountable for, the performance of team and/or assigned staff.

Ensures and provides training to assigned staff to improve user support operations; researches and identifies development opportunities for assigned staff.

Keeps next-level leader(s) informed of trends as well as significant problems.

Qualifications EDUCATION Required Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, Recreation, Sports Management, or a related field Preferred Master’s degree in Exercise Science, Recreation, Sports Management, or a related field WORK EXPERIENCE Required 2 years of related experience with structured recreational programming Preferred 2 years of experience in personnel management, customer service, project management, and cash handling Experience in a campus recreational sport setting preferred Combinations of related education and experience may be considered.

It requires the ability to move and transport objects and equipment weighing up to 25 pounds.
