Answers, screens, and directs all incoming calls to appropriate personnel relaying messages betweenpatients and clinical staff.

Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards, and US Oncologys Shared Values.

Responsibilities: The essential duties and responsibilities:Greets patients and visitors to the clinic in a prompt, courteous and professional mannerChecks in patients and informs clinical staff of patient arrivalProvides and explains paperwork for the patient to complete prior to examinationCollects, proofs for completeness, and files patient formsUpdates demographics and insurance information in the systemCollects co-pays and balancesProvides receiptsAnswers, screens, and responds to routine questions, routes to appropriate personnel, or takes thorough messagesPages clinic personnel as appropriateCommunicates messages in an accurate and timely manner according to proceduresChecks patients out after examinationSchedules returning appointments in accordance with physician and/or office guidelinesProvides patients with appointment details such as time, location, directions, instruction sheets, and other detailsRecords patient cancellations and missed appointmentsReschedules appointmentsNotifies appropriate staff of the cancellation and makes note in patient chartProvides general administrative support by filing charts and formsMaintains lobby area in a neat and orderly mannerMaintains a legible supply of forms and appropriate office supplies required for daily activitiesSchedules outside testing and referrals for patients as requiredFollows up on completed outside testing to ensure reports are received and uploaded into patient chartAssists physician in correspondence to referring physiciansSends completed notes to referring physicians and scans notes into patient chartAdheres to confidentiality, state, federal, and HIPPA laws and guidelines with regard to patient recordsPerforms other duties as requested or assignedMay type memos and forms Qualifications: The ideal candidate for thePatient ServicesCoordinatorwill have the following background and experience:High School diploma or equivalent requiredAt least 5 years front medical office receptionist experience with insurance forms and scheduling software requiredKnowledge of this practices personnel, daily routines, and scheduling a plusProficiency with computer systems and Microsoft (Outlook, Office Word, and Excel) requiredMust successfully complete required e-learning courses within 90 days of occupying positionDemonstrates AdaptabilityHandles day to day work challenges confidentlyIs willing and able to adjust to multiple demands, shifting prioritiesDemonstrates flexibilityShows Work CommitmentSets high standards of performance and works efficiently to achieve themCommits to QualityEmphasizes the need to deliver quality products and/or servicesTexas Oncology is part of theUS Oncology Networkandis an Equal Opportunity Employer.
