Community Outreach Manager, Part-time


Jude House is a non-profit, 40-bed shelter in Crown Point, Indiana, providing comprehensive services to domestic violence victims and their dependent children.

A leader in outreach and community awareness, St.

Jude House also provides training with law enforcement, medical/health professionals, social service providers, businesses and schools regarding domestic violence prevention.

We are currently looking for a part-time Community Outreach Manager to join our team Duties and Responsibilities: Develop and implement all community education and outreach plans to provide for coordinated community response to domestic violence issues.

Develop and maintain a relationship with the press.

Create a process to identify, recruit, orient, and train St.

Jude House volunteers; conducting multiple volunteer trainings each year.

Manage volunteers and match skills and interests to retain volunteers and best benefit St.

Jude House clients.

Maintain records to accurately track volunteer hours.

Chair annual volunteer recognition event.

Responsible for the development and creation of community brochures, fliers, newsletters, annual report, social media posts and update of St.

Jude House web page to promote and advertise community education and awareness initiatives and events.

Maintain community’s calendar for speaking engagements and all outreach activities and events.

Develop basic outline of speeches and presentations for use by other associates as necessary for speaking engagements.

Prepare and coach associates for public speaking engagements.

Ensure acknowledgements and appropriate reports are produced and issued in a timely manner.

Coordinate special event activities (e.g.

Domestic Violence Awareness Month activities, etc.) with appropriate department directors.

Collaborate with St.

Jude House development director to create annual calendar of St.

Jude House events and fundraising activities to promote our community in various media formats.

Demonstrate an attitude of teamwork and professionalism at all times.

Work collaboratively to meet departmental and community needs which may require performing other responsibilities and duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in education, social work, psychology or other related field; Master’s preferred 3 or more years of management and administration in a non-profit organization and working with Domestic Violence or Sexual Assault Victims Are you ready to write the next chapter of YOUR story?
